In short, mastering is the art of taking the finished mix and preparing it for distribution, whether that be to be played in a club, on the radio, or to be released to the public. Mastering is the glue and polish that completes the creative process of making a track to ensure that the project is optimised for playback across all systems and platforms.

At Bassment, our mastering engineer has spent several years perfecting their analogue and digital mastering chain to ensure that your track will stand up against the very best, in terms of loudness, power, and vibe - whether it is to be played on a tiny iPhone speaker or a massive sound system (like the ones we have at our events).

The order process, preparing your file and delivery:

Once you click add to cart, you will be prompted with a window to attach your file via a dropbox, wetransfer or similar weblink.

We require your finished mix to be sent as a WAV file with a sample rate of 44100Hz (48k, 98k also accepted but will be subject to dithering) and a bit depth of 24bit or 16bit

The mix/master channel within your project should be completely dry - meaning without any processing, and should peak at -6 dB. This is to allow headroom as the mastering chain will increase overall level. For best results, to reduce the peak, please lower the volume of each channel in your session instead of lowering the master fader level.

Once your master is complete, our engineer will send you an email with a link to your track. By following the link, you can stream and download your finished master, or add revision comments (if needed). This link will also contain your invoice for your records.
